Confirmation: A booking is only confirmed upon receipt of a 50% deposit. The remaining balance is due 30 days prior to arrival.
Last-Minute Bookings: Stays booked within 30 days of arrival require 100% payment at the time of booking.
Currency: Payments are accepted in USD or LKR (at the prevailing market rate). Any bank transfer fees are to be borne by the guest.
ID Requirement: Per local law, all guests must provide a copy of their Passport or National ID (NIC) upon check-in.
2. Cancellation & Refunds
Standard Period: * Cancellations 31+ days before arrival: Full refund (less bank fees).
Cancellations 14–30 days before arrival: 50% of the total booking value is forfeited.
Cancellations less than 14 days or "No-Shows": 100% of the total booking value is forfeited.
Peak Season (Dec 15 – Jan 15): Strict no-refund policy for cancellations made within 60 days of arrival.
3. Check-In / Check-Out
Check-In: From 2:00 PM.
Check-Out: By 11:00 AM.
Late Check-Out: Subject to availability and may incur a fee (50% of the daily rate up to 6:00 PM; 100% thereafter).
4. House Rules & Occupancy
Guest Limit: The number of occupants must not exceed the capacity stated in the booking confirmation. Unauthorized visitors are not permitted overnight.
Smoking: Smoking is strictly prohibited indoors. Guests may smoke in designated outdoor garden areas only.
Noise & Conduct: Please respect the tranquility of the neighborhood. Loud music and parties are prohibited after 10:00 PM.
Pets: No pets are allowed on the premises unless previously authorized in writing.
5. Liability & Damages
Security Deposit: A refundable damage deposit may be requested upon arrival.
Damages: Guests are responsible for any breakages or damage to the property or its contents caused during their stay. Costs will be billed before departure.
Personal Property: Don’s Chalet is not liable for the loss of valuables, money, or personal injuries sustained on the premises. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance.
6. Force Majeure
The villa is not liable for failure to perform obligations caused by events beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, government restrictions, or utility outages.
